Celtic Knot Challenge

While blog surfing this week I spotted that Judy has a new challenge for us to try out Freestyle Celtic knots. See here for a link to the challenge.

I had not tried out this method before and it is really easy, thanks for showing us how. I think I will be using this one again.

Zendala Dare #19

The dare this week from Erin at The Bright Owl was to use this template

For some reason I found this template really difficult, I spent ages staring at a blank piece of paper with no idea what to do. I think it was all the squares that put me off. I do not like to fill each one with a different tangle as that feels messy to me so I had to have something that worked when repeated.

Here is my first attempt which I am quite happy with given my struggle to start,

I am looking forward to next week's challenge which will hopefully be something not so square  :-)

Diva Challenge #83

The challenge from Laura at I am the Diva this week was to use just 2 tangles, Mooka and Assunta.

I used to struggle with Mooka until a while ago when I started playing with it more. My Mooka used to be very controlled and small but I let this one run wild and ended up with a Zia rather than a tile.

I had lots of fun with this, I hope you enjoy it...

I had another go at this challenge and came at it from a different angle this time Mooka within Assunta.

Zendala Dare #18

The dare this week from Erin at The Bright Owl was fun.  When I first looked at this template Paradox was what spring out at me, however I used Paradox last week so thought I would try something else this week.

My first attempt, spot the deliberate change part way through this one, I didn't have the energy to redo it so left it as it was.  :-)

For my second attempt I tried to go for something a bit more organic and softer.

Zendala Dare #17 - In honour of

The dare this week from Erin at The Bright Owl as well as the zendala was to also to complete this in honour of someone who has had a battle with Cancer.

I have had a few friends battle with Cancer and some of them have lost that battle. I kept my Zendala simple this week and completed it with the tangle paradox. This is because I feel this disease is a paradox, we do not know who will be affected or when and the outcomes can be so different in every case.



Zentangle Inspired Art Prompt #29 - Fill it with curves

The challenge this week see here was to produce a piece of art inspired by this blog.  It's all about curves.

I had a lot of fun with this and decided to go with some bright zingy colours as that is not my usual style. I am usually much more muted. I like the way it turned out. Although it did take ages with all the colouring.

Diva Challenge #80

This weeks challenge can be found here and was to use the Tangle Mi2. This is one that I have looked at the finished tangle before and thought too complex, however when you try it out it is quite simple to do. That's what I love about these challenges, they get me to try things that I might not have done otherwise.

I had a couple of goes at this and it was fun, this pattern is one that can have so many variations, it's been fun looking at how others have interpreted it.
